We’re moving back to Buenos Aires !

After nearly 365 days of prayer about where to go for my mental health, we finally have answers! We’re moving back to San Miguel del Monte, Buenos Aires. We’ll be working with the Christian organization Word of Life again, and serving in La Paz Church with Pastor Carlos Aranguren.
Please pray that this temporary home will be a place of healing!

Baby Kenya’s U.S. Passport !

The US Embassy in Argentina gave us a passport/citizenship interview in November, but we had to reschedule it due to COVID-19 travel restrictions. Our next appointment is on January 25th in Buenos Aires (12 hours away from us). Then after processing, Kenya’s U.S. passport may be ready by March. However, many flights are being canceled due to the pandemic, so please pray we’ll be able to fly to Buenos Aires!

Finally back in church !

In October we were given permission by local authorities to have church gatherings with a maximum of 15 people at a time.
And starting this month we’ll be able to have 100! The condition being that we can successfully social distance. Our church’s YouTube channel will still upload weekly videos for the immunocompromised folks who aren’t able to attend. Only 2 people in our congregation have gotten COVID this year, but thankfully they got over it quickly! Right now however, there are 3 other families with symptoms who spent the holidays self-isolating, with elderly people among them. We’re praying for speedy recovery!

Facu got an “A” in his Hermenuetics class for the Master’s degree program that he started this Fall. And he taught a Hermenuetics class to a few of the teenagers in church. They were really interested! He’ll continue teaching a few more classes until we leave. He’s also been preaching monthly for our socially distanced Sunday services (try saying that with a lisp).

Our Soup Kitchen has officially closed. It was a blessing to families who got laid off during the pandemic, but now all of the shops in our town have opened back up, so there’s no need!

Youth Group

Guille, Germancito, Cuchi, & Facu photobombing in the back.

We haven’t been able to grow in numbers, but we’ve witnessed great spiritual growth in most of the Youth Group kids. Coming from drastically different high schools, they definitely weren’t a close-knit group when Facu & I arrived in 2018. But now they actually like each other! And they get together outside of church! Friendships within Youth Group have begun and blossomed, in addition to their friendships with Jesus. That’s a big praise!

Thank you for your partnership, both to those of you who are praying and those who are giving support. We are extremely grateful!
